What is a Nurse Practitioner?

A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed advanced education and clinical training in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions. A nurse practitioner provides primary and acute care, and is qualified to meet the majority of patients’ health care needs. A nurse practitioner also offers certain care previously offered only by physicians; for example, in the state of Missouri, a nurse practitioner has the ability to prescribe medications. Working in collaboration with a physician, a nurse practitioner provides high-quality, cost-effective and individualized care for the lifespan of the patient’s needs.

My role as a Nurse Practitioner:

“I specialize in treating acute and common ear, nose, and throat illnesses such as allergies, sinus infections and ear infections. I take pride in treating each patient as an individual and emphasizing continuous education in order to assist patients with developing an on-going health care plan through preventative medicine. My goal is to develop a sense of mutual trust with patients in an effort to assist them in understanding their health condition.”
